Sarah Dutkiewicz joined the Software Guild staff in August 2014, bringing over a decade of industry experience from a variety of roles – including technical support, management, desktop support, database administration, application development, and web development. Prior to joining the Guild, Sarah taught continuing education courses in database administration and web development for Cuyahoga Community College. She co-authored and edited Automating Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Administration with Windows PowerShell 2.0 (ISBN 978-1-118-01386-1). She received her Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering Technology from the University of Toledo. At the Software Guild, Sarah assists the instructors as a teaching assistant and mentor to the apprentices and also contributes to the curriculum in database and web development.
Outside of the classroom, Sarah is active in the technical community – speaking at conferences and user groups, planning developer events (Stir Trek, NASA’s International Space Apps Challenge, Cleveland GiveCamp), blogging, and advocating for the tech community in general. She runs Cleveland Tech Events, a website that keeps track of the technical user groups in the Cleveland and Akron areas. For her contributions to the community, Microsoft recognizes Sarah as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional, with an expertise in Visual Studio.
In addition to her technical interests, Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends, baking, and getting outdoors.
