Jason Gerstorff

Jason Gerstorff joined the Software Guild as a Lead .NET Instructor in June of 2015. Prior to joining the Guild, he worked in development roles in various industries including advertising, card processing, insurance and consulting for over a decade in Louisville, KY. Most recently he acted as the Senior Developer for the Price Weber Marketing company, implementing new features for various RJ Reynolds global websites using the Microsoft .NET stack including Web Forms and ADO.NET. Before that he was a Senior Application Developer for Heartland Payment Systems, where his team implemented an award winning sales CRM using Microsoft MVC, JavaScript, Entity Framework and Sql Server. Jason received his B.S.B.A. in Computer Information Systems from the University of Louisville in 2004 and his M.B.A. from Bellarmine University in 2011. He also holds the Microsoft MCPD certification.

During his career, Jason developed an interest in teaching while acting as a mentor to younger developers. He also had the opportunity to teach various topics including Agile methodologies, Knockout JS and JavaScript to his peers at internal company presentations. When the opportunity to teach at The Software Guild presented itself, he jumped at the new challenge.

Outside of work, Jason is an entrepreneur and stays busy helping to run his wife Leah’s salon where he also acts as the sole web developer and web master for the business. He stays involved with the local development community attending the Codepalousa conference regularly and local .NET meetups when time allows. Jason has two boys, Gabriel and Austin. His other interests include video games, kickboxing, and the local food and craft beer scene.
